A Barrilete Gigante of Our Own

That's 8 stanzas, and 4
different choruses

For our final project in Spanish class we have to create our very own barriletes gigantes. We have started the process simply by coming up with a design! Jacob had the idea to incorporate the national bird of Guatemala, a quetzal. Abby then thought about the many messages that we saw on the different kites and thought since we were focusing on Guatemalan national pride we should incorporate the national anthem. The Himno Nacional de Guatemala is a little bit long, too long to fit on the entire kite. We instead decided to just focus on the last chorus, which first line is "May it fly high," here is the rest:

¡Ojalá que remonte su vuelo,
más que el cóndor y el águila real,
y en sus alas levante hasta el cielo,
Guatemala, tu nombre inmortal!

And this is the final design:

Es bonita, ¿sí o no?
